NEED FEEDBACK! Play test Post Mortem


I ran a session of “ShoppingTowne Mall” and had the following insights.

It was a very enjoyable session, everyone had fun.  Players came up with some great action. 

Spending DREAD as a GM mechanic didn’t seem to work.  Probably better if Dread just rises and it affects CROWN rolls and whether the humans are alert to Zombies in their presence.  Probably going to change that in the next version of the rules.

Players seemed a little lost when I revealed the Dogs as the main quest.  They weren’t clear that THAT was intended to be the main quest, so then they did some wandering.  This is a problem, and I need to revise that a bit in the module I think.

Battle got a little tedious.  I think in the POLYMORPH  system, the players are a bit overpowered in battle.  Fighting zombies hit almost every time, which means they also are missed by enemy weapons ALMOST EVERY TIME.  So mechanically, I need to incorporate adversaries that do area effects that activate DISADVANTAGE to some rolls.  

Definitely going to update the rules and the module to address this.  I’d appreciate feedback from anyone who has played this module, or other Polymorph-based games!
